ABQ Balloon Fiesta 2009

Greetings 2010!!

Kim here.  Our 2009 ended gracefully.  We wore out 2009 and it was tired.  I (Kim) ended the year with both feet having out-patient procedures performed on 12/29.  I had some excess bone removed from the tops of my feet which had been giving me a lot of trouble and pain during long runs.  The aggravation started to take longer and longer to heal each week so I just decided along with my podiatrist to just fix the problem.  My other options were to deal with the pain or stop running as much.  Yeah right.  There is still business to be done and my feet are my warriors.  I need them at 100%.  So, needless to say, our New Year's went by with a toast, a kiss, a yawn and a pain pill.

So January is in full swing and I'm not sure I'm in the driver's seat but I'm along for the ride.  One week after surgery and my feet are healing nicely but the sutures are still in and my activity is limited.  My frustration and impatience are however reaching heights that are embarrasing to admit.  Oh well, I have the food network to keep me company.

No resolutions this year.  I haven't made any resolutions ever really.
I do have my goals but they change and expand as needed.  The goals right now are:

Physically:
1. Heal quickly
2. Get a sweat on everyday--until I'm fully healed and then the goals get more specific.
3. Eat to live not live to eat.

Mentally:
1. Stay organized--Maya's school, RJ's school, my school, workouts, meal plans, bible study, reading, blogging.
2. Remember:  failing to plan is planning to fail!!
3. Sleep every night

Spiritually:
1. find a place to give--search, find it and put it on the schedule
2. keep up with my bible study
3. make church a priority

We are soon going to set our race calendar for the year and it looks like another busy year ahead of us.  The final schedule to come shortly, hopefully.

In the meantime....love to you.
